I've just signed up for an MPhil in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Bristol. I'm going to be look at the ethical impact of contemporary Jesus studies, looking particularly at how the language of sin and forgiveness in the Gospels are handled by scholars.

I'm still feeling my way through things towards something more concrete, but I think I'm going to focus particularly on N. T. Wright's approach to Jesus, working from the perspective of the New Rhetoric and using the scholarship to conduct a Ricouerian hermeneutic of suspicion and retrieval.
